If you select to be a PASEIA member, approximately 90% of your dues will be invested in Pennsylvania initiatives; otherwise 90% will be invested in NJ initiatives. Dues are based on an honor system calculated on the total sales and revenue from your last year. Your membership year is now for 12 months based on the receipt date of your check. PURPOSE OF MSEIA MEMBERSHIP DUES:

MSEIA is an approved 501 C-6 non-profit solar energy trade association whose regional office is located in the Rutgers EcoComplex in Bordentown, NJ as an incubator business organization member. Membership fees are based on an honor system and we ask that you respect this honor system and recognize the value that MSEIA provides in representing the interests of the entire solar energy industry. Our regional solar energy industry is growing rapidly due significantly to the work of MSEIA. With a new administration in Trenton and Harrisburg, and evolving solar programs in Pennsylvania and Delaware, it is important to have strong and experienced industry representation. MSEIA’s efforts are aimed at promoting and educating policymakers and encouraging them to adopt the very best and most progressive solar policies. Success in doing so will enable solar energy to be developed to a level where it will have a demonstrable effect on reducing global warming emissions, substantially grow year-round solar energy jobs, create a permanent renewable energy economic sector, and move solar in the direction of economic parity with fossil fuels. In its 14th year of operation, MSEIA has grown in influence and recognition and is the voice of the solar industry in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. MSEIA monitors and advocates for supportive state and municipal regulations, and closely monitors state legislation. MSEIA has responded to obstacles impeding the growth of solar through legal filings, regulatory participation, written submittals, educational meetings with policy makers, and through the research, development, and publishing of position papers and solar policy proposals. MSEIA is sought after to respond to press inquiries and inquiries from state government and the media. MSEIA speaks for the hundreds of solar energy businesses that have become established, or are being created in the Mid-Atlantic region. MSEIA represents its members through a volunteer board of directors and executive committee, a part-time executive director, hires legal counsel to respond to litigation and regulatory rulings that need legal response, and advocates for municipal regulatory changes to address obstacles to solar deployment. Additionally, MSEIA hires legislative consultants to assist in lobbying for progressive solar legislation. MSEIA communicates monthly, bi-weekly, and sometimes daily with critical information of use to solar businesses. The MSEIA website will be upgraded in 2011 to maximize the functionality for information dissemination, marketing, education, and citizen advocacy. Our annual and quarterly treasury reports are open for inspection to all members. Special litigation campaigns are funded through separate donations, not through annual membership dues. The Executive Committee and the Board of Directors are chosen each January at the annual meeting by the membership. The Board, Executive Committee, and Executive Director are available to answer your questions, discuss ideas, or listen to concerns. MSEIA is the regional Affiliate of the national Solar Energy Industries Association. MSEIA participates in monthly national chapter calls, national chapter meetings, and other workgroups to enhance the ability of all solar advocacy organization to grow solar energy in the United States.
